Srinagar, May 27 (KNO): The inhabitants of Bay-15 Rakh-i-Arth Housing Colony here have written to the vice-chairman of J&K Lakes and Waterways Development Authority (LAWDA), urging him to provide basic facilities to them.
In a letter, a copy of which is in possession of the news agency—Kashmir News Observer (KNO), the locals have stated that the Dal Lake dwellers were rehabilitated in the year 2015 while till date they have not been provided with any basic facilities by the LAWDA.
“We are living in harsh conditions here, which compelled us to live in rented rooms in different areas,” the letter reads.
The inhabitants have demanded construction of 90 feet roads, drainage, development of link roads, electricity facilities and drinking water.
They said that in case the department fails to fulfil their demands within one month, they will return to their native land and construct residential houses inside Dal Lake to live a happy and normal life—(KNO)
